As we wrap up 2019, we thought we might take a moment to review our most interesting and helpful blog posts from this past year.

We’ve picked and ranked our top 5 blog posts from 2019. If you missed these posts, be sure to check them out. There’s a reason they are in our top 5!

5. “The Consequences of Drinking and Driving”

Everyone knows there are consequences to getting behind the wheel of a vehicle while under the influence; but in this post we also reveal some of the lesser-known penalties you may face if you drink and drive.

This post is always a timely read as sadly 29 people lose their lives in accidents related to drinking and driving every year.

While we enjoy festivities and appreciate having a good time with our own loved ones, we will always stress the importance of responsibility and safety first.

4. “5 Types of Insurance You May Need if You’re a Character in a Horror Film”

While this post was a part of our Halloween blog series this year, the message behind the post is worthy of year-round recognition.

This post delves into a variety of seemingly unrealistic scenarios seen in famous horror flicks in order to discuss the importance of different kinds of insurance coverages in the real world.

Ultimately, you don’t need to be running from an ax-wielding villain or dealing with house-destructive poltergeists to need these 5 types of insurance.

If you’re a horror fan, it’s a fun read. If not, “5 Types of Insurance You May Need…” is still a valuable lesson about insurance with some spooky fun case studies to prove the point.

3. “What Else Is There To Do In Watkins Glen?”

In this blog post we strayed a little away from insurance to talk about our local region instead.

You may recall the concert that never was, Woodstock 50. The concert was to be held just several miles up the road from our office and once it got cancelled there were a lot of complaints from those who had already planned a weekend in the area for the concert, as now they felt they had wasted their money and time.

However, being life long natives of the area, we wanted to show folks that concert or not, our area is full of reasons to come spend a weekend. We wrote this post as a local guide to the many things to do in and around Watkins Glen.

Having our office based in Montour Falls, NY, we are very grateful of the beautiful little place our agency is nestled in.

2. “Dealing With An Insurance Adjuster”

One of our very first blog posts of 2019, “Dealing With An Insurance Adjuster” covers valuable knowledge that everyone should have in case they are unfortunate even to experience a loss and need to file a claim.

In this post we discuss what insurance adjusters (individuals who assess the damages and details of your loss to determine the payout needed to properly reimburse you) do and what kind of adjusters there are out there.

This is one of our favorite blog posts of 2019 and is a good read to refer back to should you need to file an insurance claim.

1. “3 New Year’s Resolutions For Homeowners”

This is one of the most important blog posts a homeowner could read all year.

We believe it’s our duty as an independent insurance and risk management agency to not just protect our clients financially with well-constructed insurance plans, but to provide the resources and knowledge they need to protect themselves.

The 3 “resolutions” listed in this post are great ways that homeowners can better limit their risk of a loss and secure themselves (and their belongings) should they be unfortunate enough to experience one.

As we leave 2019 behind us and enter a new year, be sure to stay up-to-date with our helpful tips and informative posts.

If you have any topics or questions that you’d like us to write about in 2020, please send us your suggestions or mention them in the comments.

We look forward to sharing more great posts like the ones listed above with our readers and insureds.
